Trading Benefits of Halcyon Trader Funding
Successful trading isn’t just about hitting targets—it’s about building habits that reflect discipline, professionalism, and long-term thinking. At Halcyon Trader Funding, we encourage traders to follow these best practices.
1. Trading Responsibly
Maintain control over your decision-making. Avoid:
-
Overleveraging or scaling without a plan
-
Trading emotionally or reacting impulsively to losses
-
Jumping between strategies without proper backtesting
2. No Consistency Rule
Unlike other platforms, Halcyon Trader Funding has no consistency rule in any of our account types. You are not required to maintain the same profit or a certain profit amount day to day.
We believe in giving traders the flexibility to evolve and adjust as markets change. However, abuse of this flexibility—particularly to secure rewards or bypass evaluation standards—will be flagged for review.
3. Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA)
DCA is permitted. This means adding to a losing position to average your entry price.
However, DCA must be part of a well-defined strategy.
Be aware: Averaging into oblivion (continually adding to a losing trade without limit) is dangerous and discouraged.
Use stop-losses and ensure your risk-to-reward ratios are favorable. Proper capital management is essential.
4. Trading During News Events
Trading during news releases is allowed, provided it is part of your regular trading strategy.
We understand that some traders incorporate news volatility into their edge. However, reckless trading around high-impact news without a clear strategy may result in review or disqualification.
To stay compliant:
-
Avoid gambling-style trades during major economic events
-
Ensure your strategy is backtested for news conditions
-
Maintain appropriate risk management (e.g., use of stop-losses)
Trading responsibly during news is not only allowed—it's expected to reflect the same discipline and structure as your normal approach.
5. Trading Activity Requirement
You must place at least one trade per calendar month per active account.
If you’ll be away (e.g., on vacation), notify us in advance to avoid account inactivity.
6. Flipping for Rewards – Not Allowed
Flipping is defined as placing trades with the sole intent of satisfying reward or trading day minimums—without legitimate trading strategy.
This practice is particularly prohibited in ALL accounts, where we monitor for flipping.
Of the required 10 trading days, traders are expected to maintain consistent trading behavior. Even if you continue using the same or your standard contract size, any attempt to flip more than 30% of trading activity will result in the request being marked invalid for flipping.
Flipping includes, but is not limited to, taking a single rapid trade per day or executing multiple quick trades within the same day with the intent to disrupt normal trading patterns or game the evaluation system.
Additionally, if your average contract size decreases by more than 40% from your typical trading behavior after reaching your profit goal, your account may be flagged for flipping and subject to further review.
Our objective is to ensure traders demonstrate real, repeatable, and consistent performance, not short-term activity designed to bypass evaluation requirements.
This includes:
-
Trading significantly smaller sizes to coast through minimum days
-
Abandoning previous risk profiles or strategies
Accounts found flipping may face:
-
Suspension
-
Disqualification
-
Rewards being marked as "Invalid"
7. Ethical Trading Standards
We are building a platform for serious traders—not for those looking to “game the system.”
Act in good faith. Avoid tactics that:
-
Take advantage of order fill timing
-
Exploit technical weaknesses in the simulated environment
-
Mirror or reverse trades with other users to secure payouts
